Donations – why do we need them?
Spaying and neutering all the dogs is our major
expense. Donations also help to buy collars, leashes, brushes and dog shampoo,
vitamins, dog food (canned and dry), blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies.
Although Project POOCH rents kennel space at a state facility, we
do not receive government funding so individual support is
essential to our program. Any donation, no matter how small, makes a big
difference! Project POOCH is a 501c(3) non-profit program, and your donation
is tax-deductible.

Volunteer
We welcome professionals willing to share their expertise as veterinarians,
groomers, trainers and presenters. The construction and remodeling of the
K-9 building was done by building trades students under the direction of
their instructor, Fred Mitchell. The youths look forward to speakers and
have learned so much from representatives of the Police K-9 unit, Guide
Dogs for the Blind, and Dog Search and Rescue, just to name a few of the
groups
who have visited.
We also need volunteers to help with fund-raising, to help mail newsletters, to write grants, to represent Project POOCH at events, etc.. The youth appreciate
receiving instruction on how to create products to sell to benefit the program, and getting business advice on ways to market their products.
If you are willing to volunteer, here is our volunteer application form in two
convenient formats:

Project POOCH:
Paving the Way to a Brighter Future
Help Project POOCH
to provide opportunities for youths in corrections to learn patience, responsibility
and compassion for all life through working with dogs.
The pathway to the new meditation garden at Project POOCH will be
lined with pavers etched with personal messages from friends and
supporters like you, who see the good that comes from bringing together
sometimes forgotten young men and often overlooked shelter dogs.

For
a gift of $100, your 4”x 8” paver will be inscribed and displayed at
Project POOCH for years to come. Remember a loved one
or beloved pet. Honor a friend or family member.
Send words of support and encouragement to the young men
at Project POOCH. Click the picture at the left to download
an order form.
